Brazilian Keratin Treatment
Q. Does the Brazilian Keratin treatment you are using contain formaldehyde?
A. The brazilian keratin treatment we are using has a very low amount of formaldehyde, .02% (not 2%) and is safe on all types of colored, damaged or previously chemically straightened hair.
Q. Can the Brazilian Keratin treatment be done after I color my hair?
A. Yes, the Brazilian Keratin treatment can be done immediately following any chemical service as it is a non damaging straightener.
Q. Does the Brazilian Keratin treatment work better on virgin hair or hair that has been colored?
A. The treatment works better on colored or chemically treated hair. If you don’t have color on your hair, we recommend at least having a clear gloss applied before doing the Brazilian Keratin treatment.
Q. Will the Brazilian Keratin treatment make my hair stick straight like other Straightening services?
A. Our Brazilian Keratin product is formulated to take out 100% of frizz from the hair and 70% of curl. It will NOT make it stick straight like many other straighteners yet it will remove bulk and allow the hair to look very sleek and shiny.
Q. Will I still have to style my hair after the Brazilian Keratin Treatment?
A. With the Brazilian Keratin Treatment, your hair will still have body and volume at the root but your styling time will be cut down by up to 75% if you choose to still blow dry hair. Many clients comment that their hair which once took them 40 minutes to dry is either wash and go or will take them as little as 5-10 minutes to style with excellent results.
Q. How long will the Brazilian Keratin treatment last?
A. It depends on how often you wash your hair and what you use to shampoo your hair with after the Brazilian Keratin Treatment. We carry a shampoo and conditioner that is recommended to use after the Brazilian Keratin Treatment that will prolong the results of the treatment. Results from our clients have been anywhere from 3-6 months.
Q. What happens when Brazilian Keratin treatment grows out? Will it be curly at the roots and straight on the ends?
A. No, the Brazilian Keratin treatment is formulated to wash out evenly, not grow out. You will just notice that frizz will return and your hair will become wavier and more bulky, whatever your hair was before the treatment.
Q. How much is the treatment?
A. The cost of the treatment depends on the length and thickness of the hair. A consultation is necessary before quoting a price.
